Embroidery on silk organza panels
In order to create depth, the motif is split up and disposed on three layers, hung closely one before the other. The design recomposes in the viewer’s eye, creating a three dimensional image.

This project is the result of a thread of thoughts on how conclusions are drawn out of our daily perceptions. The goal is to formulate a thought in form of textile material, that will reach out through a sensory experience, communicate itself, and engage the observer in an own, new consideration.
The intent is to play with the eye by working on the subject of space; creating an illusion or confusion of depth. The beholder shall be put in the position of uncertainty by not being able to make out clearly what he is seeing. This will force him to lay off references he customarily uses to understand or classify perceptions.
The landscape imagery comes in as metaphor for the unbiased, instinctive sensory experience, reawakening in the viewer.
